Michael James Sadowski was born on August 24, 1911 in Philadelphia, PA. He served in the 115th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 12, 1944 at the age of 32 during the attack on Le Pont de la Pierre, France. The 29th Infantry Division was ordered to cross the Elle in southern direction, also in order to advance on Saint-Lô. The intention was to take Saint-Clair-sur-l’Elle first and then Couvains. PFC Sadowski is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
