Peter Elson Schultze was born on January 5, 1917 in Mason County, West Virginia. He was the son of Charles William Schultze and Alta Mae McDermitt Schultze. Peter served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He died on January 27, 1945 at the age of 28, during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Suncrest Cemetery, Point Pleasant, Mason County, West Virginia, USA.
