Douglas Vincent Kazmerzak was born on April 10, 1925 in Erwin, South Dakota. He served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Private during World War II. PVT Kazmerzak was Killed in Action on February 26, 1945 at the age of 19, during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bryant, Hamlin County, South Dakota, USA.
