William C. Bracklein, Jr. was born in 1920. He entered the military service in Iowa and served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Private during World War II. PVT Bracklein died on April 19, 1945 and is now buried in the Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. He also has a cenotaph located in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. William was one of the American paratroopers who fought successfully on Battle for the Recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison in February 1945.
