Nathan Glenn Austin was born on October 16, 1922. He enlisted in the Army on March 18, 1944. Nathan served in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Private during World War II. He died on February 20, 1945 at the age of 22 during the battle for the recapture of Corregidor, Philippines against the defending Japanese garrison on the island and is now buried in the Sandfield Cemetery, Troy, Pike County, Alabama, USA.
