Stephanos J. Philippides Stephanos J. Philippides was born on September 3, 1916. He had two children with Teresa Brissolese. He enlisted in the Army on August 8, 1943 in New York. Stephanos was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. He died in May 2004 in Miraflores, Lima, Peru, at the age of 87. His current burial place is unknown.
