Stavros E. Caragian was born on March 24, 1924. He enlisted in the Army on April 22, 1943. He was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. Stavros died on March 10, 1980 but his current burial place is unknown. Some records spell his name as Stavres.
