John Constantine Cacavias was born on March 15, 1920. He was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. John died on May 1, 2004 at the age of 84 and is now buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Macon, Bibb County, Georgia, USA.
