George Gus Boosalis was born on September 4, 1920 in Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota. He was the son of Gus Nicholas Boosalis and Mary Parkos Boosalis. He was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. George died on June 4, 1995 at the age of 74 in Minnesota and is now buried in the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault, Rice County, Minnesota, USA.
