Maury Edward Branan was born on June 6, 1896. He was the son of Roger Augustus Branan and Julia E. Branan. Maury served in the US military as a Private during World War I. He was one of the American soldiers who died from bronchial pneumonia in the hospital at Camp Williams, Is sur Tille, France. He is now buried in the Cool Springs Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Norman Park, Colquitt County, Georgia, USA.
