George Kantor was born on March 4, 1922. He joined the Army in September, 1942. He was trained in the ground forces but applied for active air service. He was transferred to a flying-combat group, ordered overseas in October, 1944, and was killed while serving as an armorer-gunner aboard a B-17. His name is commemorated on the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom. 2Lt Kaminski was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
