Robert Franklin Bare was born on August 2, 1921 in Yoakum, DeWitt County, Texas. He was the son of John Morgan Bare and Katherine Bauer Barr. Robert served in the 388th Bomber Group as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He died on April 7, 1945 at the age of 23 in Germany and is now buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska, USA. 2Lt Bare was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
