Roland Allard was a tail gunner of an aircraft during World War II. His plane was shot down by a fighter, near Dettingen an der Erms, Germany, aboard B-17F-45-DL Flying Fortress #42-3289 on September 6, 1943. His current burial place is unknown, but it may be somewhere in Central Falls, Rhode Island. Roland was one of the many brave Americans of the 388th Bomber Group who lost their lives in aerial operations against the German forces from June 1943 - August 1945.
