Served as a Coppersmith at Naval Air Station Porto Corsini, Italy (On the Adriatic Sea) during World War 1. Coopersmith George E. Killeen was born in Washington DC and at the time of World War 1, was working as a Sheet Metal Worked. He enlisted in the Navy and was assigned to Naval Air Station Porto Corsini (on the Adriatic Sea, near Ravenna, Italy). He died on September 18, 1918 in a tank explosion. His sacrifice is commemorated on a plaque at the Port of Ravenna, Italy.
