Served as a Gunner at Naval Air Station Porto Corsini, Italy On the Adriatic Sea) during World War 1.Born in Binghamton, NY in April 1887 he was a communications expert and was killed along with Ensign Pilot Louis J. Bergen, on September 15, 1918 when their Macchi M8 Bomber, crashed due to a mechanical failure. They were testing communications equipment. His sacrifice is commemorated on a plaque at the Port of Ravenna, Italy.
