Clinton Albert Turner was born on December 27, 1915 in Garfield, Pawnee County, Kansas. He was the son of Ewing Broadrick Turner and Alma Wetterlund Turner. He served in the 2nd Troop Carrier Squadron as a 2nd Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on February 14, 1945 at the age of 29 and is now buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska, USA. In his last letter to his brother, he said considerable damage had been done on his C-47 transport during trips to the front with supplies.
2Lt Turner was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
