Charles D. Eubanks was born on February 20, 1920. He served in the 27th Troop Carrier Squadron as a First Lieutenant. Charles was killed while flying aboard C-47A #42-100689 on May 3, 1944 at the age of 24 and is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1944-05-03.
