Charles M. Culter, aged 21, was born on May 22, 1923 in Croweburg, Crawford County, Kansas. He was the son of Fred M. Culter and Mary Elizabeth Culter. He entered the military service in Oklahoma and served in the 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. Charles died on November 13, 1944 during the liberation of the town in Achain, France and is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Departement de la Moselle, Lorraine, France.
