Glenn V. Belknap, aged 25, was born on May 23, 1920. He served in the 9th Combat Cargo Squadron, 3rd Combat Cargo Group as a First Lieutenant. Pilot of the C-46D #44-78160 aircraft, Belknap was killed in a non-battle plane crash over China on July 5, 1945. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1945-2-27.
