Richard Adler was born on June 21, 1923. He served in the 11th Combat Cargo Squadron as a Private First Class and an aircraft Radio Operator. Richard died on June 15, 1944 at the age of 20 and is now buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA. He served as an aviator in WWII and was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
