He enlisted in the Army on February 26, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Office Clerk and also as Single, without dependents. Edward served as a Private First Class, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 21, 1944 during the battle for liberation of Agincourt, France and is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Departement de la Moselle, Lorraine, France.
