Lonnie Duke was born on February 22, 1917 in Coal County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Langford Duke and Dora Keel Duke. Lonnie served in Company A, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died on September 14, 1944 at the age of 27 during the battle for liberation of Agincourt, France and is now buried in the Oconee Cemetery, Olney, Coal County, Oklahoma, USA.
