When Basil Eugene Brady, an accountant, was born on October 16, 1887, in Big Rapids, Michigan, his father, Adelbert, was 31 and his mother, Mary, was 24. He married Lyda Florence Harris on January 4, 1910, in Au Sable, Michigan. They had one child during their marriage. He served in the US Army during World War I and World War II. Basil died in 1956 at the age of 69 and was buried in the American Legion Mausoleum just west of Paris.
