James Paul White was born on April 20, 1945 in Belmont, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He entered service in July 1943, shortly after his graduation from Belmont High School. He was deployed overseas on Nov. 1, 1944. James served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in Company G, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on December 21, 1944 in Bütgenbach, Belgium at the age of 19 and is now buried in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA. A memorial plaque is dedicated for him in a field house in Belmont.
