Robert Francis Wright was born on March 3, 1918 in Alabama. He was the son of Francis Mosley Wright and Mammie Adelle Butler Wright. Robert entered the military service in Michigan and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technical Sergeant in Company C, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on January 24, 1945 in Belgium and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium. He also has a cenotaph located in Crossroads Cemetery, Carrollton, Pickens County, Alabama, USA.
