David G. Maxwell was born on December 7, 1922. He was attending Lawrence College in Appleton, Wisconsin when he enlisted in March 1943. He was assigned to Company I, 3rd Battalion of the 26th infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division. PFC Maxwell was killed in action in house to house fighting in central Aachen on 20 Oct 1944. He is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium. He also has a cenotaph located in Riverview Cemetery, Oregon, Ogle County, Illinois, USA.
