Kenneth F. Davis was born in 1919 in Maine. He enlisted in the Army on November 20, 1940, prior to the war, in Bangor, Maine. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents. Kenneth served as a Staff Sergeant, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Penobscot County, Maine prior to the war. Kenneth participated in the African campaign and suffered injuries to his face as well as eyes during the Battle of Sicily. He returned to North Africa to recuperate and his vision did return enough for his participation in D-Day. He was Killed in Action on November 29, 1944 in Germany and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
