Combat Medics - 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division Plaque
Edward Morozewicz was born in 1922 in New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private and a combat medic in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. During the invasion on Omaha Beach, France, although subjected to intense fite, Private Morozewicz remained on the open beach, carrying the injured to positions of relativelt safety. He fearlessly rendered first aid to the injured and mortally wounded. Edward was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
