Combat Medics - 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division Plaque
Raymond LePore was born on December 6, 1917, in Revere, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Pietro Lepore and Theresa Carbone Lepore. He was a 1941 graduate of Revere High where he was prominent in football and other sports. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade and a combat medic in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France but his current burial place is unknown. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument and plaque in Ray's Rock in Omaha Beach, France and ranked as a Corporal.
