John C. Conner was the son of William Hosie Conner and Mary L. Conner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company C, 101st Ammunition Train, 26th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on August 2, 1918 at the age of 24 and is now buried in Huffville Cemetery, Huffville, Floyd County, Virginia, USA.
