Wayland Jesire Brace was born on June 6, 1888 in Hague, Warren County, New York. He was the son of Lester George Brace and Flora Celia Kimball Brace. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 101st Ammunition Train, 26th Infantry Division. He died on December 21, 1918 in Montigney, France at the age of 30 and is now buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Huntington, Chittenden County, Vermont, USA.
