Frank A. Coyle was born in 1883 in Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in the 102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was wounded on February 28, 1918 by a shell fragment and died on March 13, 1918. He was originally buried in Vailly, France he was reinterred in Old St. Joseph cemetery in 1921.
