Guy Hebing Peters was born on July 21, 1894 in Cass County, Iowa. On July 26, 1917, he enlisted in the 26th Div. 101 Field Bn. Co. C. Signal Corps. Preparatory to going overseas, he was stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas and on Bedloe Island, NY. He engaged in the offensive at Chateau-Thierry, St. Mihiel, and the Argonne. He was killed by a shell on October 28, 1918 while repairing communication lines and is now buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Lewis, Cass County, Iowa, USA.
