Raymond John Dixon was born on August 14, 1889 in Kewanee, Henry County, Illinois. He was the son of John H. Dixon and Ann Shields Dixon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 101st Engineer Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He died in 1918 in France and is now buried in Saint Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Kewanee, Henry County, Illinois, USA.
