Karl W. Creller was born on August 28, 1897 in Alburgh, Grand Isle County, Vermont. He was the son of William A. Creller and Jane O'Neil Creller. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 103rd Machine Gun Battalion, 26th Infantry Division. He died on July 23, 1918 in Chateau-thierry, France at the age of 20 and is now buried in Alburg Center Cemetery, Alburg Center, Grand Isle County, Vermont, USA.
