Raymond E. Blake was born in January 1898 in Pawtucket, Providence County, Rhode Island. He was the son of Lewis Addison Edward Blake and Elizabeth L. Warhurst Blake. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the 103rd Machine Gun Battalion, 26th Infantry Division. He died on July 16, 1918 and is now buried in Aisne-Marne American Cem., Belleau, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pawtucket, Providence County, Rhode Island, USA.
