When Harry Richard Bartlett was born on November 30, 1894, in East Haven, Connecticut, his father, Charles, was 29 and his mother, Minnie, was 26. He had two brothers and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War in Company D, 103rd Machine Gun Battalion, 26th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on April 27, 1918 by a bomb in Apremont, France at the age of 23 and is now buried in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, USA.
