When Lucius Boynton Truesdell was born on July 7, 1896, in Medford, Massachusetts, his father, Leon, was 25 and his mother, Gertrude, was 21. He had two brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company C, 102nd Machine Gun Battalion, 26th Infantry Division. He died on October 27, 1918 in France at the age of 22 and is now buried in Hillside Cemetery, Monson, Hampden County, Massachusetts, USA.
