Clarence Merle Kendall was born in 1896 in Barnet, Caledonia County, Vermont. He was the son of Clarence Tilson Kendall and Mary Elizabeth Cushman Kendall. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company B, 102nd Machine Gun Battalion, 26th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 19, 1918 and is now buried in Passumpsic Cemetery, Waterford, Caledonia County, Vermont, USA.
