Hezekiah S. Porter was born on June 4, 1896. He was the son of Wallace Porter and Florence G. Wells Porter. He enlisted in the Army on October 1, 1917 at Niantic, CT. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Wagoner in Company B, 101st Machine Gun Battalion, 26th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Higganum Cemetery, Higganum, Middlesex County, Connecticut, USA.
