Lucien Taylor Libby was born on June 29, 1894 in Scarborough, Cumberland County, Maine. He was the son of Charles Edwin Libby and Sara E. Burbank Libby. He enlisted in the Army on June 5, 1917 and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in the 103rd Field Artillery Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on October 22, 1918 in Souilly, France at the age of 24 and is now buried in Black Point Cemetery, Scarborough, Cumberland County, Maine, USA.
