John T. Cassidy entered the military service in Rhode Island. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Wagoner in the 103rd Field Artillery Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He died on April 20, 1918 and is now buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France.
