John T. Rice was born on July 21, 1897 in Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Peter T. Rice and Bridget E. Brady Rice. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in the 102nd Field Artillery Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action in 1918 in the Battle of Meuse-Argonne in France and is now buried in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA.
