Walter Adams Rand was born in 1891. He enlisted in the Army on May 29, 1917. He entered the military service in Massachusetts and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 102nd Field Artillery Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He died on July 28, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Central Cemetery, Orange, Franklin County, Massachusetts, USA.
