Fred Bonyea was born on March 29, 1895 in Saint Albans, Franklin County, Vermont. He was the son of Katherine Thibault Bonyea. He entered the military service in massachusetts and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Wagoner in the 101st Field Artillery Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He died on April 19, 1918 caused by an accident in France at the age of 23 and is now buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France.
