Jonathan Earl Weich was born on October 25, 1891 in Brandon, Buchanan County, Iowa. He was the son of Frank Weich and Minnie Daughenbaugh Weich. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on December 21, 1918 at the age of 27 and is now buried in Westview Cemetery, La Porte City, Black Hawk County, Iowa, USA. His name in his headstone is spelled as Johnathan.
