When James Hoover Spaulding was born on March 25, 1894, in USA, his father, Robert, was 27 and his mother, Annie, was 24. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company L, 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on October 30, 1918 in Limonges, France at the age of 24 and is now buried in Green Hill Cemetery, Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia, USA.
