Louis August Fred Seefeld was born on November 28, 1895 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Karl Johann Frederick Seefeld and Esther C. McBride Brown. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on July 18, 1918 in France at the age of 22 and is now buried in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA.
