Joseph Benedict Schwebach was born on March 18, 1895. He was the son of John Joseph Schwebach and Thresa Rose Harris Sehwebach. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on November 5, 1918 in France at the age of 23 and is now buried in Saint Columba Cemetery, Conception, Nodaway County, Missouri, USA.
