When Franz Waldo Miller was born on August 23, 1895, in Connecticut, his father, Henry, was 36 and his mother, Hannah, was 34. He had one brother. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in Company G, 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on October 15, 1918 at the age of 23 and is now buried in Westfield Cemetery, Danielson, Windham County, Connecticut, USA.
